CONFUSION AS MÍCHEÁL Ó'SÚILLEABHÁIN'S 'PHOENIX RISING' SHOW MISTAKEN FOR EUROVISION WINNER COLLABORA

Controversy engulfed the National Concert Hall last night as crowds of people turned up to Mícheál Ó’Súilleabháin’s ‘Phoenix Rising’ Show expecting to see a collaboration with Eurovision Winner and cross-dresser, Conchita Wurst.

Hundreds of angry Eurovision fans left the concert mid-way through after realising the show they had forked out €38 for would not feature an appearance by the fabulous songstress/songster but would be exclusively traditional(ish!) music throughout.

This confusion arose from the apparent similarity between the name of Ó’Súilleabháin’s show ‘Phoenix Rising’ and the Eurovision winner Wurst’s song, ‘Rise Like a Phoenix’. One disgruntled Eurovision fan told us they expect a full refund.

“This is false advertising! The way it was billed was in a style just as fabulous as the Queen/King of Eurovision herself/himself. It was very misleading. The least I expect is a refund or a ticket to ‘The Magic of Gilbert & Sullivan’ at the end of the month…Now that would be fabulous!”

A spokesperson for the National Concert Hall apologised for the mix up and promised to make amends. Mícheál Ó’Súilleabháin also admitted the error in advertising and said that the title of the performance would now be changed to ‘The Magic of O’Sullivan’, to ensure no mix-up with other upcoming shows.

Unfortunately Conchita Wurst could not be reached for comment as it is thought she/he has returned to her/his regular job as a Cheryl Cole impersonator.

Even today, scores of confused Eurovision fans still wandered the foyer of the NCH, annoying random bearded men and asking if the voting had started yet. Staff told ‘The Drone’ they plan to play Mícheál Ó’Súilleabháin’s ‘Crispy’ on repeat over the sound system to drive them out.
