FRANKIE GAVIN VISITED BY GHOSTS OF DE DANANN ACCORDION PLAYERS PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE
Frankie Gavin endured a sleepless night as he was visited by the ghosts De Danann accordion players past, present and future.
The ghosts appeared to the De Danann frontman as the clock struck midnight, just as he was about to close his eyes. He was awoken by the terrifying rattling of the accordion bases when all of a sudden, 3 apparitions appeared to him, hovering over his bed.
Gavin trembled in his bed as the ghosts played The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba into Galway Bay and introduced themselves one by one:
“I am Jackie, the ghost of De Danann accordion players past! And I am here to show you the errors of your ways in the past! Ooooooooooohhhhhhh…we shoud’ve done more polkas and slides!”
“I am Barry, the ghost of De Danann accordion players present! And I am here to show you what’s going wrong in the present! Mwahahahahaaaaaa…we are playing too fast!”
“And I am the ghost of De Danann accordion players yet to come! I’m only eight now but you’ll know me in around 20 years! And I am here to show you your De Danann future! Oooooohhhh…if you do not change your ways there will be a cajon player, didgeridoo player and kazoo player! Oh nooooooooooooo!”
At that very moment, Frankie was whisked off on a Dickensian style journey through his life and his future in an effort to help him change his ways and remember the playing of old.
Following the experience, Frankie reported waking up with a great feeling of satisfaction and sense of peace wahsing over him which caused him to run to the window and shout to a passer-by:
“HEY YOU! WHAT DAY IS IT TODAY?”
“Piss off you mad bastard!!” they replied.
